MY SONS AND THEIR NWE FRIENDS

THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE COLLECTION OF PRO WRESTLING PHOTOS YOU WILL EVER SEE ANYWHERE

This was my first experience as the Official Photographer for the NWE (Nu Wrestling Evolution) Italy. However, this was not my first experience photographing the NWE or professional wrestling for that matter. I have previously photographed the NWE twice before and the WWE in November of 2006. This was a unique experience because I was hired as the official photographer for the NWE and I was able to shoot all my photos ringside! At times I literaly had my head leaning in the ring. In fact, on a one occasions I had my camera jammed into my face due to the fast action happening in the ring. It was great!!

But, it gets better. I actually stayed in the same hotel with all the wrestlers, I ate with them, worked out in the gym with them, traveled on the same flights and buses with them, and partied with them! I spent a total of 10 days wth them, 28-30 November in Padova shooting promotional photos in the hotel before departing for the next matches in December.

I had a chance to learn a little of the professional wrestling world from the likes of Rikishi, Black Pearl, big Jon Heidenreich, Orlando Jordan, big Matt Morgan, Ultimo Dragon, Juventud Guerrera, from British wreslters like Domino, Lisa Fury, The UK Pittbulls, The Flatliner, Hade Vansen, Little Leg,may German friend Dark Soul, and so on. It was an education to say the least. But, more importantly I made new genuine friends. What remains in my mind is the respect and superb treatment I received from these superstars and hard working individuals. No one could have asked for better!

I could go on about my personal experiences but time and space does not permit. Besides, I'd probably bore you. But there is one thing I want to share with you. Many of us are of the opinion that pro wrestling is all fake. Well, let me tell you that after being ringside, in the gym, and in the locker rooms with these guys, I can guarantee you that wrestlers are true athletes and deserve every penny they try to earn. So many of them get hurt, in fact Rikishi had a bad sciatic nerve problem and he walked around all day with an icepack tucked in his pants because "the show must go on!" That same night I saw Rikishi deliver a hard side kick to Matt Morgan. These guys are tough. They are all ex american football players or are well trained in the martial arts like Judo, Ju-Jitsu, or Karate. AND I AM SORRY FOR BEING SO GENDER SPECIFIC - THE WOMEN ARE JUST AS TOUGH AS THE GUYS! Look carefully at the well trained body of Lisa Fury. You will see abdominals and striations that normal men wish they had. I don't mean in size but, one can tell that she carefully works out and takes good care of her athletic body.

I will miss these people and hope we can work together again. Besides, I have been given a wrestling name and I have to remember to honor it. Remember to respect these athlets the next time you see a match or see them on TV. Enjoy the photos. Sincerely, Vinnie "The Fist"
