But, as the words Byrds Celebration state might bring to mind, I can assure you that this concert was a great celebration in honor of The Byrds. Not only was it a celebration but, the band members could have not been better. The experience of Terry Roggers, Scott Nienhaus, Tim Pollite, and of course Skip Battin made it sound like you were really listening to The Byrds. The harmony was there, the silk touch on the Rickenbacker and accoustic guitars were there, and even the smooth harmonic vocals were there. No one could have walked away from that concert with a negative thing to say.
I chose the photo on the side of these comments for a purpose. The image is very colorful, full of warm tones that attract a person's attention. That is exactly how the Byrds Celebration performed, and did justice to the name The Byrds. Warm, attractive, embracing, and colorful! It was a beautiful concert and emotions that were once originaly felt years ago were rekindled once again.
I was lucky to have experienced that concert which would not be repeated no more. Skip Battin is no longer with us and his presence can not be replaced. That was a very good line-up and sadly will never again be. I was very impressed with Tery Rogers and Scott Nienhaus. I encourage you all to visit Terry Rogers site (on my link page) and discover what he and Scott are doing now. Links to Scott can also be found. If you like the sound that The Byrds introduced to us back in the 60's you will definitely enjoy Terry Rogers and Scott Nienhaus. Take a look. Glad to have been there and experienced their musical bravura. Enjoy the photos.
I know many of your will say that this is not a photo page of The Byrds. You are correct. That is whay it is titled The Byrds Celebration. Unfortunately, like so many bands have experienced, The Byrds fell prey (pardon the pun) to band break ups and the such. No, what you see is not the original line-up either. However, there is Skip Battin.
